KKS Stainless Steel achieves phenomenal blade life on a Prosaw Danobat CP1100A Automatic Bandsaw.
2010-01-20 08:39:17 |
Mark Davis, Operations Manager at KKS Stainless Steel, was so impressed he wrote in this email to Prosaw Limited:-
“Gentlemen
I have finally had to remove the 67mm blade off our Prosaw Danobat CP1100A.
We had a ceremony and waved good bye to a blade that first made an appearance last year on June the 16th. She has served us well and probably had some life left in her but I have to cut a big piece of Super Duplex plate so a new blade has been put on instead.
During her life she has cut many wonderful sizes and shapes but having 585 hours, 697 cuts & 436,297 square centimetres under her belt it was time for the great scrap bin in the sky. We may never see the like of her again (well not for another 6 months anyhow).
If you are having a bevy tonight please raise your glass and give a toast to a truly great blade and machine.
Best Regards
Mark Davis
Operations/ Quality Manager
KKS Stainless Steel”
This is one of many comments we get every week here at Prosaw, Our aim is to help optimise your cutting process thus saving you money and increasing productivity.
Buying the saw is only part of the process. having your staff trained, maintaining the correct service schedule and using official replacement parts will make sure you get the very best out of your equipment. |

New Steelworkers Site Launched
2009-09-24 13:05:13 |
New Prosaw Hydraulic Steelworkers Website Launched!
Prosaw Ltd supply a range of heavy duty hydraulic steelworkers. This new website gives details of the two main ranges available; the famous Piranha machines as well as Sunrise. The site provides information including technical specifications of the machines available both in HTML web format and a downloadable PDF. The site also provides information about any secondhand steelworkers available.
The website address (URL) of this new site is http://www.steelworkers.co.uk
What are hydraulic steelworkers?
Universal steelworks or ironworkers as they are sometimes referred to, are a versatile machine that provides punching, shearing, notching and bending of plate, angle, bar and even box section and tube. Easy to operate, ideal for fabricators.
Steelworkers generate force using mechanical leverage or hydraulic systems. Modern systems use hydraulic rams powered by a heavy alternating current electric motor. High strength carbon steel blades and dies of various shapes are used to work the metal. The machine itself is made of very heavy steel to handle the enormous force that can be generated during use. Steelworkers are rated according to the force they can generate in tons; ratings usually start at 20 tons and go as high as 150 tons.
Due to the reduction in the amount of man hours and effort needed to cut or punch steel sections, an steelworker is often an integral part of commercial manufacturing facilities and fabrication shops. They are easily re-tooled for various operations and can be operated by one person. |
